Stepping Into the Fog
Foggy pours a darker straw color with an amazing haze to it. The haze itself does not make the beer completely opaque, though the only thing you will be seeing is shadows. I honestly wasn’t expecting such a dark straw color, but it does give the beer a certain foggy appearance. To top things off is a creamy head that is sticking around for the after party.
The aromas of Foggy are a perfect combination of the Mosaic and Simcoe hops. I’m picking up on a very broad tropical berry aroma produced by the Mosaic hops accompanied by a soft pine background from the Simcoe hops. The two come together in such a perfect manner creating an excellent start for Foggy.
Let The Fog Engulf You
The beginning of each sip possess a soft touch of a Mosaic induced berry flavor that soon pulls in touches of mango. Giving each a sip a pleasant tropical beginning. Though this soft characteristic quickly diminishes and Foggy then creates a slightly thicker resiny mouthfeel. This will remain throughout the rest of sip and even into the aftertaste slightly. The berry and mango flavors remain but pick up a nice pine accent from the Simcoe hops somewhere around mid sip. The Simcoe hops do an excellent job at not overpowering the Mosaic hops. Both of them work together to further the enjoyment of each sip.
Now that I am mid way through my pint I’m noticing a floral flavor that is getting stronger with each sip. I’m not sure if I just missed it before, but I am definitely noticing it now. Be sure to keep an eye out for this, its provides Foggy with a nice flavor boost.
The back end and swallow of Foggy is unbelievably smooth. It seems that the pine flavors backs off slight. And we are left with a nice berry medley flavor combination. The aftertaste brings back the resiny mouthfeel with the same tropical berry and pine combination, though I would say the pine is a bit stronger at this point.
The mouthfeel of Foggy is interesting. At first the only characteristic I picked up on was a resiny feel. After sitting back and giving it some more thought I noticed more of an oily feel as well. I guess you could say it’s a hop resiny/oily mouthfeel. No complaints from my end. The overall body of the beer I’d say is more medium to heavy. But still very refreshing overall!
Let’s Clear Things Up
I’m not sure if there is supposed to be any relation between Foggy Style and Foggy. Though both beers are similar there are some notable differences between them. I really enjoyed the combination of Simcoe and Mosaic hops and how well they complimented each other. From the aromas all the way till the end of each sip, they came together so well! The most noteworthy aspect of Foggy was the oily mouthfeel left behind by each sip. I must say this is something I have not experienced yet and I wholeheartedly enjoyed it. Foggy is a beer that is made for several occasions if not all. A delicious beer that holds strength and not complexity. Leaving us with the ultimate drinking experience!
Cheers!
Cheers buddy. Formerly foggy style? I was wondering if you were gonna touch on that or not.

Yeah, I’m not sure if it is. I remember Foggy Style having a more hoppy feel to it. Foggy is a bit smoother.
